St. John Family,
I was pleased to announce last week the hiring of Me-Gan Vu as our new Director of Sacred Music at St. John the Evangelist. Me-Gan brings a deep love for the liturgy and a wealth of musical experience that will surely enrich our parish worship. We look forward to the beauty and reverence she will help foster in our liturgical celebrations through sacred music.
As we welcome Me-Gan, I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Adrienne Peletier, who has faithfully coordinated our music ministry over the past three years. Adrienne stepped in with generosity and dedication, guiding our music program through a time of transition and helping maintain the dignity and prayerfulness of our liturgies, all while holding a full-time job and completing her degree. We are truly thankful for her service and the many gifts she has shared with our parish.
As I mentioned at Mass this weekend, I also wish to share that Charlotte Dickey, our longtime Coordinator of Religious Education, will soon be transitioning to serve solely at St. John Academy, our parish school. Charlotte has devoted 13 years to the religious formation of the children of our parish, and her impact has been both profound and lasting. We are deeply grateful for her faithful and tireless work in handing on the faith to the next generation, a work that will continue at the Academy.
As Charlotte prepares for this new chapter, we will soon begin the search for her replacement. Please keep this intention in your prayers, that the Lord may guide the right person to continue this vital ministry.
Peace.
-Fr. Kennell
