Legacy Sunday

Passing on the faith we have received.

This weekend, August 29-30, we join the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee in celebrating Legacy Sunday - a time to give thanks for those whose generosity continues to strengthen the life and mission of the Church for generations to come.

Throughout the history of St. John the Evangelist, generations of faithful Catholics have given generously of their time, talent, and treasure to build and sustain the parish we have received. We are beneficiaries of their faith and generosity, and we have a responsibility to pass that faith on to those who will come after us.

A legacy gift is a way of extending that generosity beyond our own lifetime. By including the Church in your will or trust, you can make a lasting contribution to the Church and help ensure that the mission and ministries of St. John continue to flourish for future generations.

When you share your intention to make this type of gift, you are welcomed into membership in the Lumen Christi Legacy Society, which recognizes those who have chosen to leave a lasting legacy of faith and generosity.

This Legacy Sunday, we invite you to prayerfully consider the legacy you hope to leave. What have we received from those who came before us? And how might we help provide for the spiritual and material needs of those who will come after us?

We give thanks to God for all who have helped build up our parish, and we pray that He will continue to make St. John a place where generations of families can encounter Christ, grow in faith, and bear fruit for His Kingdom.

If you have already included St. John in your will or trust, we are grateful for your generosity. If you would like to learn more about legacy giving or share your intention, visit legacygifts.org.

May the faith we have received become a gift we faithfully pass on.
