Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Recognition Month
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greetings in the Lord!
It is my pleasure to once again call your attention to the wonderful work of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW). Through their faith, generosity, and dedication to the Church, these women continue to be a tremendous blessing to our Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee. Their prayer, leadership, and service enrich the life of our parishes and our local Church.
I am pleased to recognize August 2026 as Council of Catholic Women Month in our diocese and encourage all of the faithful to join me in celebrating the many contributions of these devoted women.
The DCCW is affiliated with the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW), and I continue to be grateful for the opportunity to serve as the liaison from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to this outstanding organization. Founded in 1920 at the request of the bishops of the United States, the NCCW continues to support, empower, and educate Catholic women in spirituality, leadership, and service.
I warmly invite every woman in our diocese to consider becoming involved in her parish Council of Catholic Women. Membership in a parish council also includes membership in the diocesan, state, and national organizations, providing opportunities for fellowship, formation, and service while strengthening the mission of the Church.
May the work of our Diocesan Council of Catholic Women continue to inspire us to respond generously to the needs of our communities and to witness joyfully to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
