4th Sunday of Easter

Dear Parishioners of St. John the Evangelist,

What an incredible blessing it was to witness the energy and enthusiasm at last week’s Liturgical Ministry Fair! I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the 34 individuals who stepped forward to serve.  Your “yes” plays a vital role in the life of our parish and the celebration of the Mass.  For those who weren’t able to attend, there’s still time to get involved! As we continue rolling out updates and new initiatives at the parish, we want to pull back the curtain and give you a glimpse of what’s happening behind the scenes.  To that end, we’ll be posting periodic videos to our YouTube channel featuring Fr. Kennell, myself, and other parish leaders in which we’ll share parish news, answer questions, and share the heart behind new initiatives.

This week, we invite you to check out our very first video, where Fr. Kennell shares his vision for the newly revamped Altar Server program and thoughtfully addresses a common question: “Why do we have an all-male altar server program?”  You may be surprised to hear about the strong connection between male altar serving programs and priestly vocations.  You can watch the video by visiting our YouTube channel.
