Easter Sunday

Dear Parish Family,

Happy Easter! He is Risen. Alleluia!

This is the day that makes all the difference. The Resurrection of Jesus rerouted a devastating course for human history to one that is full of hope. We don’t need to fear anything anymore as we place our faith in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave. When death is conquered, all other fear is swallowed up, because at the bottom of all fear is loss of our lives. But Jesus gives us life forever. This is something to truly celebrate, and not just on one day, but always. In fact, liturgically, the Church gives us seven full weeks (one week longer than Lent!) to celebrate this awesome mystery of Easter.

So, celebrate well! Enjoy the fresh green of the springtime outside, nature’s own revelation of the mystery of the Resurrection. Spend quality time with your family and your friends in light and good-humored conversation. Share with others a delicious meal! Rejoice in all the good things the Lord has given us, most especially that gift of Life itself.

And let’s pray for one another, that we may carry about within ourselves the resurrected life Jesus came to share with us.
