Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Parish Family & Friends,

I am pleased to share an update on our Parish Council here at St. John’s. This fall we have continued the important work of re-establishing the council, and I am grateful to welcome our new members: Kelly Bernhardt, Jim Blanchet, Jerry Kelly, Kathy Kidd, Brett McCarty, and Anita Thomas. I thank them for their willingness to serve our parish with generosity and prayer.

I am also deeply thankful to the parishioners who helped get the council up and running again. Our continuing members include Olivia Clemons, Rob Griffith, Christine Macejka, John Maceluch Jr., Marilyn Percy, and Steve Shea, with Steve serving as Chair during this transition period. John Maceluch Jr. will complete his term alongside the new members. Our plan is for new and outgoing members to meet together through the spring to ensure a smooth transition as the new council finds its footing and elects officers. We’ve already had one successful meeting together in January.

I encourage you to get to know our Parish Council members and to feel free to share your thoughts, hopes, and experiences with them. Your voice matters, and the council exists to help ensure those voices are heard. Please keep all of our council members—new and continuing—in your prayers as they serve. I am grateful for their generosity and for the many ways God continues to bless our parish through their service and collaboration.
